Winter fun for kids

Tänndalen is where unforgettable family memories begin – with fun and adventure for the little ones.

Spend time together and enjoy skiing and cross-country trails as a family. We offer cozy places to stay for both small and large families – all close to the mountains, ski slopes, and trails.

Kids will love the special areas with magic carpets, button lifts, forest trails, and fun parks. During the holidays, our friendly mascot Bärra Blåbär is there to make sure the kids have even more fun.

There’s also lots to do besides skiing – tasty food, waffle huts, snowmobile rides, and more. Everything you need for a great winter holiday together.

Children's areas

The children's favorite area is called Krokskogen and is located in the middle of the system, with skiing on gentle slopes, forest paths and easy-to-use button lifts. In Hamra there is another children's area for the youngest skiers. Here there is a ride band, button lift and fun figures on the slope.

Snowpark and ski art!

At Familjeliften in Buskvallen, you’ll find a new snow park full of fun and challenges for both kids and adults – with jumps, rails, and lots of space to play.

The lift poles here are something special. They’re giant works of art created by local artist and snowboarder Jonas Wilhelmsson. His unique designs add even more beauty to the mountain.

The adventure

New fun slope! Here you can enjoy fast-paced courses and a feeling of well-being. We give thumbs up in groups, take swinging turns and do high fives. And then of course the tunnel, who doesn't want to go through a tunnel!

Snow racer

A couple of times a week, just before the lifts close for the day, we take the lift to the top. From there, we steer the snow racers down towards the valley and enjoy the rush of speed.

Berries Blueberries

Our mascot Bärra Blåbär loves to play with all the children in Tänndalen. Do you fancy skiing with him or maybe just giving him a hug? All activities with Bärra Blåbär are fun!

Krokstugan

Do your children want to rest from skiing before the rest of the family is ready to head out for the day? Krokstugan in Tännporten has a playhouse that is open to all families with children. There is also a packed lunch cabin and toilets.

Alvar

Alvar is an old and very wise Muskox. He likes to take it easy and doesn't stress himself out unnecessarily. And he has that magical ability that muskox have to be able to talk to the trees and the stones.

Bears

Björna is a really smart and sometimes quite determined bear cub. She loves everything to do with the forest, the mountains and nature and has a full grasp of plants, animals and different weather. Björna is the one in the group who often gets what she wants!

Lallo

Lallo is a real hothead who always throws himself into adventures without thinking too much. Often it goes well but sometimes it gets a little crazy. But Lallo is always happy and positive which is a good quality, especially when going on adventures.

Pentathlon

Challenge your big brother or mom in a pentathlon! All competitions take place with skis/board on your feet. Who will win in Ski Cross, parallel slalom, Speed ski, self timer and long jump?

Bärra's best alpine tips

Riding the lift: When you are about to board the lift, make sure your skis are pointing straight up in the direction of travel of the lift. Look over your shoulder and turn your upper body, look at the lift, stretch your hands towards the lift and place the button between your legs/under your butt. Stand still on your skis with your weight on both feet and let the lift pull you up the slope. When you get to the exit, press the lift button down/away from your body and release it.

Plowing: When plowing, remember to bend your legs a little. Stand on both feet in your ski boots and bring your skis together in front and push your heels out so that the skis take on the shape of a pizza slice or ice cream cone.

Parallel skis: When you dare to go with a little more speed, you ski with your skis next to each other like two popsicle sticks. When you turn, you can either do a skidding turn or a carving turn.
