Running Week and Tänndalen 100 miles

Welcome to an unforgettable week of running in the heart of the Swedish mountains. From June 24–28, 2026, Tänndalen becomes a trail runner’s paradise – offering everything from guided mountain runs and technique sessions to the spectacular 100-mile road race, Tänndalen 100 miles. Whether you're chasing distance, elevation, speed, or simply the joy of running in breathtaking nature with great company, this is the ultimate summer highlight for runners of all levels.

Tänndalen 100 miles June 26-27, 2026

Welcome to Tänndalen 100 miles – a one-of-a-kind ultramarathon on asphalt through the breathtaking Swedish and Norwegian mountains. The race starts and finishes at Ski Lodge Tänndalen, perched 770 meters above sea level and surrounded by vast fjäll landscapes. The adventure begins at 05:00 on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Over the course of 161 km, runners will pass through stunning natural scenery and iconic mountain locations like Fjällnäs, Vauldalen, Brekken, and the UNESCO World Heritage town of Röros. After returning to Tänndalen, a final loop via Funäsdalen leads to the finish line in Hamra. The route follows quiet, smooth mountain roads – often shared with more reindeer than cars.

The race features 1,000 meters of elevation gain, a precisely measured course, and planned certification by the Swedish Athletics Federation and IAU. Thanks to the midnight sun, no headlamp is needed – you’ll run in magical midsummer light the whole way. Prize money is awarded to the top three men and women, with raffle prizes for all participants.

Runners may use personal support. Major aid stations in Brekken, Röros, Ski Lodge Tänndalen, and Funäsdalen offer access to restrooms, warmth, energy supplies, and delicious local mountain food. All participants are equipped with GPS trackers. Maximum race time: 30 hours.

Tänndalen 100 miles is organized by Tänndalens IF and experienced ultrarunners with a deep love for the mountains.

Registration opens September 1, 2025.
